#WE, the nation's largest #empowerment campaign, announces production of its pet project #WE News, created as a content pilot in Miami in 2016. This new weekly TV series will be filmed virtually in segments at the homes of the news anchors by the news anchors, then produced independently with graphics and videos, and aired weekly in a 30 minute TV series aired nationally and globally.
Celebrity host, Alyson Williams, the #WE Celebrity Host/ Spokesperson, and current #WE TV host, will be the Senior Anchor and Senior News Correspondent. Alyson Williams is The First Lady of Def Jam and was the first artist signed to Def Jam by Russell Simmons and Sean Diddy. Her album, with hit single, " Just Call My Name" stayed on the Billboard charts 67 weeks back in 1989.
#WE News was created as the " first ALL WOMEN News cast BY women, FOR women, about women", by creator-writer, Lowell Beasley. It now encompasses all empowerment causes, news and issues including, bullying, racism, #BlackLivesMatter, #TimesUp, #MeToo, gay rights, immigration, #LULAC, high-school shootings, sexism, etc. as well as women empowerment.
The series begins virtual production this week, and will air by the end of August-early September.
